Formerly known as Villa Piacere, The Villa has a sophisticated new look thanks to a recent remodel. The modern décor emphasizes stone, natural woods, and industrial light fixtures. Tufted banquettes and marble-topped tables make for a rich feeling inside, while outside multiple patios with trees and fountains provide plenty of alfresco seating. A banquet room upstairs allows for huge parties. The Northern Italian menu has California touches like flatbread topped with prosciutto, walnuts, fig marmalade, pesto, and Gouda cheese. Risottos are perfectly chewy, handmade pastas like the tagliatelle are appropriately tender. Fish, duck, veal, and lamb shank all show up on the long and well-executed menu. Chef Robert Lia has some Mediterranean tricks up his chef’s-coat sleeves, too, so be on the lookout for exciting menu specials.
