Tucked inside The Ventura Wine Company, The Cave restaurant serves lunch and dinner from a menu of small plates—warm crab salad sliders, Asian lettuce wraps, escargot cassoulet. Among the lunch offerings are a tomato bisque, Boston chowders, Niçoise and barbeque chicken salads, sandwiches, burgers, pastas, and pizzas, including the unusual Mac n Cheese Pizza topped with bacon and spicy aioli. The Beef short ribs and the pan-seared barramundi come with sides of sweet potato fries or blue cheese mashed potatoes. The list of entrees expands for the dinner menu. For dessert: the Bittersweet Chocolate Lava Cake and the Peach Cobbler are both served warm with Vanilla Ice Cream. Five wine-serving machines on site offer two-ounce tastes or full size pours of 40 premium wines, largely from California. Wine and cheese tasting events are ongoing.
