The dining room may be small, but the portions are generous and well prepared at this Conejo Valley mainstay. (The owners recently opened an even more modestly sized restaurant, Sesame Garden, in Camarillo.) Diners at both locations are greeted by a friendly staff, small plates of crispy chow mein for the table, and Chinese zodiac place mats to help break the conversational ice. Specialties include Triple Meat Kung Pao, featuring shrimp, chicken, and beef sautéed with mushrooms and crunchy peanuts in a sauce that can be made as spicy as desired.
