This addition to Coast Village Road’s restaurant row offers elevated dining in a simple, elegant space with white linen napkins and fresh flowers. The menu—from the bread for the table to signature desserts—is entirely gluten free. Executive chef Piersimone D’Anna brings international experience to starters like the Yellowtail Crudo with avocado mousse, candied celery and lime coconut milk; and the Buffalo Cauliflower with spinach cashew crema. Freshly made pastas include seasonal ravioli, classic fettucine alfredo, and lasagna with ragu Bolognese, béchamel noisette, tomato coulis, and Parmesan frico (cheese crisps). The predominantly Californian and European wine offerings complement entrées like sea bass with fava bean puree, guanciale, morel mushrooms, and lemon gelée. Among the dessert offerings are Lilac’s layer cakes, flavored with berries or chocolate, and individual tarts from award-winning sister establishment Lilac Patisserie.
