Located in The Collection at RiverPark, the first Yard House on the Central Coast is beer-geek nirvana. Stainless steel pipes zigzag overhead, carrying lines from the temperature-controlled taproom (visible from window-side booths) to the island bar in the dining room. More than 120 brews on 120 taps are served by the pint, the shortie, the sampler, and the “half yard,” a tubular glass that holds 32 ounces. It’s not just about the beer, although the menu’s array of steaks, seafood, salads, sandwiches, street tacos, and shiitake-garlic noodles is decidedly suds-friendly. Marked by special symbols, vegetarian, and under-600-calories, the options are numerous. Head to the outdoor patio if you’re in the mood for conversation; with rock music and seating for more than 300 people, the dining room can get a bit, well, celebratory.
